Kunderang Station, Georges Creek Records
This collection primarily documents the Fitzgerald family's management and daily life of of Kunderang Station at Georges Creek. Family correspondence forms a significant component, including letters received by Joseph Fitzgerald from his children—Jim (Brother Gregory O.S.A.), Joe, Charles (at St Ignatius College Riverview), daughters Addie (at Ursuline Convent Armidale), Flora, and Mary—and from his wife, sister Mrs C. Carlton, and nephew T.H. Carlton (1918–1927). Business correspondence includes letters from C.J. McDonell, C.S. Hill of Bungay (Wingham), H.V. Gould regarding land applications, and the Postmaster-General's Department concerning telephone line requirements (1913).
Financial records comprise a butcher's ledger documenting accounts with customers in Taree, Cundle Town, Cundle Plains, Hanging Rock, Lansdowne, and Oxley Island (1880–1884)—almost certainly belonging to Alexander McDonell, butcher of Dickensons Creek, Ghinni Ghinni; daybooks, cash books recording beef sales (1872–1899), income and expenditure accounts (1885–1886), and wages books (1894–1947).
Operational materials include a rain register for East Kunderang (1900–1910), sales of horses records (1912–1913), and a shearing tally book from The Prairie, Moree (1927).
