Description
Description
Oswald Allen was a professional photographer in Sydney who worked alongside his wife, photographic artist Eliza Allen. In 1862, Oswald Allen established his own photographic business at 360 George Street, initially in partnership with his stepson, William Bradley, until 1867, and then continued on his own. In 1869 Oswald formed a formal partnership with his wife Eliza, and together they exhibited their work at the Sydney Intercolonial Exhibition in 1870. By 1873, their studio had been taken over by Freeman Brothers.
