Ken Jones was a prominent Armidale businessman and civic leader who operated Ken Jones’ Furniture Arcade at 111 Dangar Street. Originally an employee of the firm when it was known as Lane’s, Jones managed the business for ten years before purchasing it in 1939. His store became a regional distributor for specialized home goods.
Beyond commerce, Jones was a founding member and President of the Police Boys Club for thirty years and served as an alderman on the Armidale City Council. His philanthropic footprint extended to over a dozen local charities and sports clubs.
