Description
The UNE Museum of Antiquities (UNEMA) was the first regional museum of ancient history and archaeology in Australia. Established in 1959 as the UNE Classics Museum from the teaching collections of the Department of Classics, the Museum contains an excellent selection of antiquities from the ancient Mediterranean. Home to the James Rivers Barrington Stewart Collection of Cypriot artefacts and the Jordanian Pella Collection, the Museum also displays objects of material culture from Africa, the Americas, East and West Asia, Europe and Oceania.
