Object IDFA-00001Alternate titleContents List for the Atkinson CollectionDateBetween 1st June 1896 and 31st May 1981DescriptionThe Geoffrey Atkinson Collection includes manuscript letters from late 19th and early 20th century British and American writers to A T (later Sir Arthur) Quiller-Couch ("Q") (1863–1944) and William Archer (1856–1924), journalist and theatre critic. The letters include those from famous literary figures including Thomas Hardy, W B Yeats, George Moore, Henry James, Joseph Conrad, Rupert Brooke, and A E George Russell.
The collection also includes Geoffrey Atkinson’s work in transcripts, articles, working notes, professional and personal correspondence, printed explanations, photos and copies of reviews and lectures by Quiller-Couch.
The collection, donated to the University library in 1995 by Professor Geoffrey Atkinson, who was a Lecturer in the English Department at UNE.
