Nancy Nivison (Munro) was born in 1905 and grew up around Bingara. She married Alex Stratford Nivison (known as "Poss") on 23 November 1927 at "Mirani," Walcha. They had three children: June, Jillian (who married Herbert Oppenheimer), and Peter.
Nancy served as Commandant of the Walcha VAD during WWII and was one of the VADs selected for the Royal Navy repatriation mission aboard HMS Glory in 1945. Her mother, Grace Munro, was a founder of the Country Women's Association (CWA), with a memorial monument unveiled at Keera Hill on 14 February 1960.
