Moona Plains and Kunderang Station Records
This series documents the activities of the Crawford family and the management of their pastoral properties, Moona Plains and Cunderang (Kunderang), near Walcha, NSW. The collection contains a comprehensive range of personal and business records, including diaries, letter books, cash books, day books, and livestock and station account books detailing operations from the 1840s to the early 1900s.
The series is rich in correspondence, featuring family letters from Ireland and Europe, business communications, and notable letters to A.R. Crawford from botanist Baron von Mueller regarding plant specimens. It also includes significant legal and property documents such as wills, deceased estate papers for family in Australia and Ireland, land tenure documents, brand registrations, and numerous plans detailing land resumptions for public roads. Additionally, the collection holds genealogical research on the Crawford, Hill, and Colclough families, photographs of Moona homestead, and the First World War diaries of Mervyn Alexander Crawford of the 15th Battalion, AIF.
