Welcome to the UNE and Regional Archives

The University of New England and Regional Archives preserves and shares the documentary heritage of both the University and the wider New England region. Our collections include the official records of the University of New England and its predecessor, the New England University College, alongside rich holdings from the Armidale Teachers’ College, the Armidale College of Advanced Education, and a substantial regional maps collection.

As a research centre, we collect, preserve, describe, and provide access to material that reflects the social, educational, and cultural history of our region. Here you can explore documents, photographs, maps, and objects that together form a unique record of New England’s past. Whether you are a researcher, student, or community member, we invite you to discover and engage with the stories that have shaped our University and our region.

The University of New England respects and acknowledges that its people, courses and facilities are built on land, and surrounded by a sense of belonging, both ancient and contemporary, of the world's oldest living culture. In doing so, UNE values and respects Indigenous knowledge systems as a vital part of the knowledge capital of Australia. We recognise the strength, resilience and capacity of the Aboriginal community and pay our respects to the Elders past, present and future.
