Swales family records relating to 'Woodlands', Uralla
This series consists of records associated with the Swales family and the management of their property, 'Woodlands', at Uralla, NSW. Financial and agricultural records include an account book (1911-1915), wool books (1910-1914), and a notebook containing shearing tallies and miscellaneous memoranda (c.1906). The series contains land and legal documentation, including Local Land Board certificates in the names of James and Beatrice Swales (1919-1920), a 1908 tracing map of 'Woodlands' from the District Surveyor's Office, and correspondence regarding land (1888-1919).
Personal records include elector rights for James Swales Jnr (1894-1901) and Beatrice Margaret Swales (1903), and various insurance policies (1917-1927). Correspondence of note includes a 1910 letter from the Australian Cadets Association (London) and a 1909 letter from Joseph E. Carne (Department of Mines) regarding tin dredging.
