Wongwibinda Station and Wright Family Records

The Wongwibinda Station Collection documents the Wright family's pastoral activities across multiple properties in New South Wales and Queensland from the mid-19th to early 20th century. Core material includes diaries of Albert Andrew Wright (1867-1890) recording life at Collymongool, Nulalbin, Fairfield, Vena Park, Barry, and Wongwibinda; diaries of Charlotte May Wright (1891-1895) and Arthur F Wright (1895-1912); a wages ledger (1902-1920); and a letter book (1891-1894).

 Business records comprise correspondence with government departments, cattle and sheep account sales, receipts, and extensive land documents relating to Wright properties at Fairfield, Nulalbin (Queensland), Barry Station (near Nundle), and Wongwibinda (formerly Kangaroo Hills). The collection includes historical materials on the Wyndham family, including pamphlets by George Wyndham (1847, c1866), transcribed correspondence (1867-1877), and reminiscences by Charlotte May Wright and Celia Wyndham. Ten maps document land resumptions, boundaries, and leaseholds at Wongwibinda, Nulalbin, and surrounding areas.
