Eleni Dedes recalled, ‘most of the players were European’. The cup was donated by two Greeks from Gunnedah. In 1983 Armidale team won the cup from Gunnedah. According to Mrs Dedes, the grey-coated man on the left is Bill Tzippery (spelling?) who Eleni Dedes thought could be Austrian or Hungarian. He owned the dry cleaning business, then sold it and, at time of the interview, was managing it.
